On Saturday, September 29,th, Andrew McKenna and Jim Beasley, had the honor of performing a fly-over at Arlington National Cemetery to commemorate the Volusia Honor Air WWII Veteran’s Flight Program and its roughly 120 World War II veterans.
The program’s mission is to extend the “deepest appreciation and gratefulness to our WWII heroes for their bravery and sacrifice by escorting as many World War II veterans as possible to the new World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., at no costs to those veterans.”
Congressman John Mica, Chairman of the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, hosted the event. Attendees included former U.S. Army Air Corps service men. The U.S. Army Air Corps was predecessor to the US Air Force and remained as a branch of the U.S. Army until 1947.
McKenna and Beasley had the privilege of flying the MXVIII Spitfire and North American P-51 Mustang fighter planes. “[It] was an incredible experience,” said McKenna. The Wicks Group, PLLC is proud to have supported McKenna and Beasley, and this historic program honoring our nation’sveterans.
