TWG Announces New Vice-President Vinny Lepera
The Wicks Group is pleased to announce that Mr. Vincent (Vinny) Lepera joined the firm as Vice-President, Technical Services, effective August 1, 2014. In his new capacity, Mr. Lepera will have responsibility for managing Technical Services Division personnel, in addition to bringing his aviation safety expertise to firm consulting and technical projects.
Mr. Lepera has more than 40 years of experience in aviation safety inspection and program management. In a long career with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mr. Lepera led the FAA New York International Field Office for several years, managing oversight of 140 foreign air carriers operating into the U.S. as well as Part 145 certification of foreign repair stations located across Europe, Asia, and Africa. Mr. Lepera also participated in FAA International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) audits of the civil aviation authorities in 15 countries.
Since retiring from the FAA, Mr. Lepera has worked as an international aviation safety consultant, specializing in IASA audit preparation projects, Part 145 foreign repair station certification, MRO audits, and maintenance inspection procedures development and documentation. He previously worked with TWG as a Senior Aviation Technical Consultant (Airworthiness) on the firm’s IASA preparation projects for Azerbaijan, Trinidad and Tobago, and Ukraine – all of which resulted in the country receiving the desired Category 1 rating. He is currently assisting with the firm’s IASA project for India.
Mr. Lepera is also an FAA Designated Airworthiness Representative, authorized to issue airworthiness certificates to aircraft up to 880,000 pounds in weight. He also has developed/implemented a Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System for several FAR 121 and FAR 135 operators.
