On September 8, 2015, Silkway Technics (SWT) was certificated by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a 14 CFR Part 145 repair station. Conducted through a series of audits, the certification process ensures that a repair station’s programs, systems, and intended methods of compliance are thoroughly reviewed, evaluated, and tested. Once certified, a repair station may conduct maintenance activities on aircraft operated by US carriers.
SWT was founded in March 2006 as a subsidiary of “Silk Way Airlines” LLC, and is located in Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Baku. SWT currently provides Maintenance & Engineering Services for the whole Azerbaijan Airlines Fleet, as well as Silkway & Silkway West Airlines and Silkway Business Aviation. SWT also provides Line Maintenance support to Airliners flying to Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Baku; such as Qatar Airways, Aeroflot, and Air Astana. With the completion of this certification, SWT now holds the following repair station authority approvals and certificates: European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA Part 145), Azerbaijan State Civil Aviation Administration (ASCAA Part 145), Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BDA/AMO/410), Qatar State Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA/FAMO/131), and the US FAA (FAA Part 145).
